This is THEO. Theo is a 3 - 4 year old blue nose Pittie (mix). He has the biggest head and sweetest personality. He was pulled from the Santa Barbara shelter just hours before he was to be euthanized — all because he possibly has a torn cruciate.
Theo was pulled by Shadow’s Fund (www.shadowsfund.org) and was delivered to a vet hospital to be boarded. He is currently being treated for untreated allergies, which has caused his skin to be inflamed, his toes to swell up, and he also had a mild ear infection. He has started medication to help with the inflammation from the allergy source (which is to be determined). Theo will also be having a consult done with a local surgeon to have his knees further evaluated and surgery scheduled if necessary.
Once all of Theo’s medical concerns have been addressed he will be ready for a foster and forever home. If you would like to consider either option for Theo, please contact Shadow’s Fund (you must be a California resident) at: firstname.lastname@example.org
Novato, CA: Need volunteers to visit/walk/spend time with Diego. Diego is in a nice boarding facility right now while we continue to look for a foster home for him. We are looking for people in the area who would like to get introduced to him and possibly help out by visiting/walking him at the boarding facility. He’s an absolute love. Let us know if you are near Novato and would like to help.

Mowgli and Bailey are brother and sister. Their mom is a brindle Pittie and the dad is unknown. They are 10 months old and the last two out of the litter needing a home. They are tall and lean with a gentle demeanor. Great with other dogs. If interested email SHADOW’S FUND at email@example.com
8 week old Olive was found abandoned with one eye popped out of its socket. This sweet girl had surgery to repair the eye and is otherwise healthy and has had her shots. She needs a loving foster or forever home ASAP. She is a pit bull mix. If interested in adopting or fostering Olive, please contact Shadow’s Fund: firstname.lastname@example.org
These 16 week old pups were found near their mom’s body. She had been hit by a car in a rural area outside of Victorville. Locals reported that the pups sat by her body for days. Cars passed and did nothing. Now these lost pups are shelter bound. They lost their mother. Please don’t let them lose their life in the shelter. To inquire about them email email@example.com
In our family volunteering starts early! Here is Skylar (my oldest daughter) hanging out with Bernard in front of Wal-mart drumming of business for the Shadow’s Fund bake sale. Her sister was back at the treat tables make sure everyone knew what baked goodies were available and how much they cost. I mean really, who could resist two young girls that are so excited to be raising money for rescue dogs?
It’s true that teaching kindness and caring should start early! As they grow older they’ll always value the lives of animals, because it’s what our family has taught them is important.
Bernard is resting (with the help of a sedative) but is in pain after surgery to remove the skin cancer from his belly. Our strategy now that the first round of tumors have been remove (another surgery is scheduled in 8 weeks) is to boost his immune system and starve the tumors through the right nutrition program. His medical bills, grocery bill and meds are very expensive. Please help us give Bernard the care he deserves. For 7 years he stood by the side of a homeless man, providing comfort and friendship as they lived life together on the streets. Now its Bernard’s turn to get the comfort and care he gave for so many years. If you can make a donation to our medical fund it would be greatly appreciated.
Bernard is home with his foster family. The vet is optimistic about the outcome after the second surgery is done. The doctor said Bernard had too many tumors to remove in one day, and some were very deep to the point of where he had to go into the abdomen to remove them. However, he doesn’t feel the cancer has spread into Bernard’s lymph nodes, and x-rays taken a few weeks ago showed his lungs to be clear of cancer too. So there is hope as long as we continue aggressive treatment. Poor guy is very uncomfortable and has a few drains in his abdomen to keep any fluid build up from occurring.
Meet SKYE! Skye is a 80lb. Pit/Great Dane mix, who is 1 1/2 years old, neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. How he hasn’t been adopted already, we have no idea!
Skye went through a 2nd Chance prison program where he was teamed up with prisoners and they trained him. While very puppy’ish still, he listens very well. He’d do well in just about every situation he could possibly be put in. He loves kids, other dogs, and even gets along with cats.
Skye lives at the Shadow’s Fund sanctuary, Sheltering Oaks in California. For info on Skye contact: firstname.lastname@example.org
