This is THEO. Theo is a 3 - 4 year old blue nose Pittie (mix). He has the biggest head and sweetest personality. He was pulled from the Santa Barbara shelter just hours before he was to be euthanized — all because he possibly has a torn cruciate.
Theo was pulled by Shadow’s Fund (www.shadowsfund.org) and was delivered to a vet hospital to be boarded. He is currently being treated for untreated allergies, which has caused his skin to be inflamed, his toes to swell up, and he also had a mild ear infection. He has started medication to help with the inflammation from the allergy source (which is to be determined). Theo will also be having a consult done with a local surgeon to have his knees further evaluated and surgery scheduled if necessary.
Once all of Theo’s medical concerns have been addressed he will be ready for a foster and forever home. If you would like to consider either option for Theo, please contact Shadow’s Fund (you must be a California resident) at: info@shadowsfund.org

STILL URGENT: Major needs a foster home ASAP. Major is a senior pit bull mix that has just not caught a break lately. He was dumped at the shelter with a terribly neglected ear infection. That infection meant ear surgery to remove both ear canals. After surgery, he spent months in boarding at the vet hospital with no one expressing interest in him. This weekend he was finally on his way to a home but he does not like the man of the house. He does not have issues with all men, and is great with women and children. He does not like other dogs. We know this sounds like a tall order but we have faith that there is someone out there that can give an old dog a comfortable home and love and will look past his special needs. Please contact us right away at info@shadowsfund.org if you can help Major.

Novato, CA: Need volunteers to visit/walk/spend time with Diego. Diego is in a nice boarding facility right now while we continue to look for a foster home for him. We are looking for people in the area who would like to get introduced to him and possibly help out by visiting/walking him at the boarding facility. He’s an absolute love. Let us know if you are near Novato and would like to help.

8 week old Olive was found abandoned with one eye popped out of its socket. This sweet girl had surgery to repair the eye and is otherwise healthy and has had her shots. She needs a loving foster or forever home ASAP. She is a pit bull mix. If interested in adopting or fostering Olive, please contact Shadow’s Fund: info@shadowsfund.org

These 16 week old pups were found near their mom’s body. She had been hit by a car in a rural area outside of Victorville. Locals reported that the pups sat by her body for days. Cars passed and did nothing. Now these lost pups are shelter bound. They lost their mother. Please don’t let them lose their life in the shelter. To inquire about them email oakhillsrealtor@yahoo.com

Central Coast “Parvo Outbreak” Isn’t Because People Are Poor

If you live on the Central Coast of CA and pay attention to the local news, apparently there is a “parvo outbreak.” The news is blaming the outbreak on low income families who can’t afford vaccines. But lets be truthful about WHO to blame. The real people to blame are the lazy and ignorant dog owners - BAD dog owners. There are HUNDREDS of low cost vaccine clinics held EVERY weekend at local feed stores and at a lot of local vets. Farm Supply and Lemos have vaccine clinics almost every weekend. And the clinic I work for does a monthly 1/2 off vaccine clinic - we even do 1/2 off fecal and heartworm testing! And various other veterinary clinics also do these low cost clinics. Animal shelters also offer low cost vaccines. These days there is NO EXCUSE not to have your dog vaccinated. So dear media, don’t say people can’t afford the vaccines, tell the truth! The people who don’t vaccine are just plain stupid and putting their dogs, and all other dogs, at risk.

This is Olive. Olive is one of my three foster dogs. She came into our lives last November after being found by a good samaritan who found her a week after she had been hit by a car. The rescue I foster for, Shadow’s Fund, rallied behind her and repaired her shattered femur. Four weeks later we found out she was pregnant. The day after Christmas she had a litter of NINE puppies. Seven of those puppies have been adopted, and two are still in my care.
Olive has done her duty as a good momma Pittie and is ready for a home. She is 15 - 16 months old and spayed. She would do well with a laid back MALE dog, but probably would not do well with another female in the house. She would make a great walking or hiking partner, but would not do make a good running partner.

Olive is located in Santa Maria, CA. Are you ready to give her the home she deserves? If so, contact Shadow’s Fund at info@shadowsfund.org
